Character and identity

Phum Baitang means "green village" in Khmer, and the 45-villa resort delivers exactly that: stilted wooden villas raised above 20 acres of working rice paddies, lemongrass meadows and manicured gardens, all linked by timber walkways. Paris studio AW2 designed the property as a contemporary reimagining of a Cambodian village, with a temple-like spa, two restaurants and a striking 50-metre saltwater infinity pool fringed by thatched salas. Angkor Wat and the Ta Prohm temples sit 15 minutes away, as does downtown Siem Reap and the Old Market. Service is quietly attentive, and the rustic-luxe register is consistent throughout.
