Tinajani sits at 14,600 feet in a 200-hectare nature reserve in the southern Peruvian Andes, several hours by road from Juliaca and a long way from the Machu Picchu circuit. Just 12 guests stay in safari-style paired tents (one for sleeping, one for lounging), anchored by an 1890 farmhouse the Andean group recently took over.
