Character and identity

A 33-story oval glass tower two blocks off Broadway, this is downtown Nashville's most visible luxury address and, for now, its only full-blown luxury hotel. The 533 rooms sit above three restaurants, a fourth-floor spa, a 12,000-square-foot guests-only pool deck with private cabanas, and a lobby (the "Firefly Box") lit by fixtures echoing Tennessee fireflies. Michael Mina runs the show at Bourbon Steak and the rooftop Bourbon Sky Lounge, the city's highest. The aesthetic is sleek metalwork and curved glass; service runs to white-glove, with poolside attendants circling every 90 minutes with smoothies or sunscreen.

Who's it for

Best for:
Business travellers, convention-goers (the Music City Centre is next door), Marriott Bonvoy loyalists, and design-minded couples who want downtown access without Broadway's chaos. The dining, the rooftop views, the executive lounge on 33 and the cabana programme reward guests who actually use the building rather than treating it as a place to sleep.

Should look elsewhere:
Travellers chasing the honky-tonk, music-scene atmosphere will find the mood corporate and the lobby cool rather than warm. Rooms can feel small and awkwardly shaped thanks to the oval footprint, so anyone prioritising square footage or a sense of local character should look at smaller boutique options.

Bottom line

What you're paying for is the view, the service choreography, and Michael Mina's cooking; the rooms themselves are the weakest part of the package. Book a higher floor with a downtown-facing aspect, target a suite if the awkward geometry of standard rooms worries you, and time a visit around a Bourbon Steak reservation. Bonvoy members get free Wi-Fi, which sharpens the value.
